The Environmental Hydraulics Institute is looking to appoint a PhD student (1.0 fte) to work on the development of a numerical model simulating the formation of tidal channels. The project will involve comparisons with detailed laboratory experiments and part of the project will also be devoted to the analysis of interactions between physical and biological processes. This is a three-year PhD studentship offered to highly motivated candidates with expertise in at least one of the following areas (or related fields): physical oceanography, morphodynamics or numerical modelling (Fortran, C or Matlab). The candidate should enjoy working on an interdisciplinary topic and being part of a team of scientists from different backgrounds. The candidate is expected to have excellent writing skills in English. Knowledge of Spanish would certainly be a plus.
