4th SCARCE International Conference

The SCARCE Consolider Ingenio project that aims to understand the impact of global change on water quality and availability and its effect on the ecosystem services, human being and economy. This project is focused on four Mediterranean river basins in order improvement the knowlegde at different scales. A multidisciplinary approach have been developed to get a whole vision of water

The topics of the 4th SCARCE International Conference are:

- Monitoring network for chemical and biological data. Tools for integration and improvement of risk assessment
- Groundwater and surface hydrology. Effect of global change
- Assessment of water quality and ecosystem functions. Tools for water management
- Development of models and integration tools to assess and manage water resources
- Freshwater ecosystem services and integration in river basin management plans. Approaches for improving risks under water scarcity conditions
- Socieconomic issues and water management

The meeting will include invited speakers and contributed key note lectures and posters. Submission of abstracts is opened to both SCARCE and non‐SCARCE assistants. Preference to oral presentations will be given to those submissions considering general overviews and summaries of projects related to the subjects of the meeting. A limited number of oral presentations can be accepted.

Abstracts (in English) for oral (max. 4 pages) and poster presentations (1 page) should be submitted to the Secretariat before October 15th, 2013. Please use the template available at www.scarceconsolider.es.

Posters must be no larger than A0 format. If received late, the abstract will be selected for the poster session.

The acceptance of the contributions will be communicated to the authors on October 25th, 2013 the latest.
