2) PhD and Post-Doctoral Opportunities in Environmental Sciences and Physics
We are seeking highly motivated candidates for PhD student and Post-Doctoral possibilities in the fields of Environmental Sciences and Physics.
The candidates will work in an international group of researchers in the Department of Physics and the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology at the UAB. The research is centred on the pathways of stable and radiogenic isotopes through the natural environment with a particular focus on the marine environment and its connection with climate. The research is embedded in a new project FLOWPATH that is funded by the Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad of Spain. Collaboration with partner institutes in the UK, Germany and Canada is integrated in the project.
Eligible candidates should possess a Master degree or a PhD in a relevant field of the natural sciences. Candidates should be proficient in English speaking and writing.

3) Scientific Fisheries Observer

Scientific Fisheries Observer
£21,241 p.a. + sea going allowance at £37.65 per day spent at sea
Interested in an opportunity to contribute to sustainable Fisheries Management in the South-West Atlantic? The Fisheries Department has a vacancy for a Scientific Fisheries Observer for one year in the first instance. Observers are required to spend periods of up to five weeks at a time at sea to collect biological and other data on ships fishing primarily in Falkland Island waters.
Applicants should:
* Hold at least a BSc in a Zoological or Biological subject
* Be computer literate
* Be enthusiastic, and have the ability to work alone
This position offers:
* Eligibility for a 15% gratuity payable on successful completion of the contract
* Flights to and from the Islands at the start and end of the contract
* 50 days holiday entitlement
* Shared accommodation to rent when on land
