Trabajo postdoctoral en genética
The Genomics and Structural Information Laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral fellow for a 24-36 months contract.Localisation: Marseille (Luminy Campus) FRANCE - IGS Laboratory CNRS UMR7256
Starting date: as soon as possible (as early as April 2012)
Duration: initially “postdoctoral” contract for 24 months, possibly followed by a further 12 months as “researcher” (short term contracts administered by CNRS)
Monthly salary: around 2000-2500 euros net depending on experience
Funding: European FP7 project MicroB3 (4 years, started 1st January 2012)
Scientific context:
The IGS laboratory in Marseille contributes to the exploration of the ocean ecosystem within the European MicroB3 consortium (Biodiversity, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology - http://www.microb3.eu/). The candidate, integrated in a bioinformatics team, will participate in the development of methods for the analysis of marine viral biodiversity estimated from very large scale metagenomics datasets (including data produced by the TARA OCEANS consortium http://oceans.taraexpeditions.org/).
Qualifications and Experience:
Applicants should hold a PhD and solid experience in bioinformatics. Proven skills in programing are essential. Familiarity with one or several of the following would be an advantage: manipulation of ultra-high throughput sequencing datasets (454, Illumina HiSEQ), metagenome analysis, marine plankton biodiversity, environment virology.
