Textos en PDF de la UICN
La International Union for Conservation of Nature (UICN) ha publicado los siguientes textos, en formato PDF, de interés para nosotros:Ecologically or biologically significant areas in the pelagic realm : examples and guidelines : workshop report
For the Aichi Biodiversity Targets to be met in full, examples and guidelines for the identification of important pelagic areas must be made available to policy makers involved in the process of identifying ecologically or biologically significant areas (EBSAs). In an effort to provide such examples and guidelines, a workshop was convened by the Global Ocean Biodiversity Initiative (GOBI) and the Marine Geospatial Ecology Lab (MGEL) of Duke University. The context for that workshop and the examples and guidelines developed by the experts are presented in this report.

Mediterranean pelagic habitat : oceanographic and biological processes, an overview
The Mediterranean Sea is a highly variable and dynamic environment, but human activities have a large impact on this environment. A broad-based dynamic conservation approach is needed to preserve essential ecological processes and services, and to protect economic and cultural resources for future generations. Hence, this publication aims to apply a process approach to habitat conservation, seeking to ensure that not only the pelagic marine species, but also the dynamic pelagic habitats upon which they depend, are considered when Marine Protected Areas are formed.
